Auto Service & Technology
Students in the program will be taught how to service, troubleshoot, and repair modern automobiles and light trucks . They will be taught many essential skills and encouraged to develop good work habits . Current safety standards used in business and industry will be stressed.
Students will use a current textbook, workbook, and computer software program that deal with automotive theory and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) standards . This program is designed as a competency-based program, one in which each student will be encouraged to develop to his or her fullest potential and progress at his or her own pace . A glossary of automotive terms, along with many other words and phrases commonly encountered in the automotive industry, will be introduced within the program. Priority 1 ASE skills will be taught first. Students will be prepared for entry-level position in the workforce or be encouraged to attend a postsecondary automotive program upon graduation from CCTI . Students in this program are eligible to join SKILLS USA and DECA . Students are responsible for purchasing the safety clothing required for the program.
Auto Service Excellence (ASE) national certification is possible for outstanding students.
