Reminders for days when school is closed due to inclement weather:
All staff and parents/guardians will get a phone message typically between 5:30 and 6:15 the morning of the event or between 7:00-8:00 the evening before the event.
The message will state that school is closed and that we either will be doing a Flexible Instruction Day or a “traditional snow day.”
If we are doing a Flexible Instruction Day all students will be directed to check into their respective Google Classrooms for their assignments and have all assignments completed and submitted by 2:30 pm. (Students are not required to do facetime in their classes.)
If we have a traditional snow day, the students are not required to complete any assignments, and the day will be made up later in the year. Regarding the AB schedule following a snow day–We do not reset the days. We return to the regularly scheduled day. Example:
- Monday – A Day
- Tuesday – B Day
- Wednesday – Snow Day (No School) Scheduled A Day
- Thursday – B Day (Return to regularly scheduled B day)
- Friday – A Day
- Regarding the make-up day later in the year—we will communicate to all in plenty of time whether or not that day will be an A or B Day.
Student attendance on a Flexible Instruction Day is determined by whether or not students submit assignments by 2:30 pm. Teachers are to send Tara Benyo names of students who did not submit their assignments by 2:30. Those students will be marked absent.
Example of a school closing message:
CCTI will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 6th. We will be doing a flexible instruction day. All students are to check their Google Classrooms for assignments and submit their assignments by 2:30 pm. Feb. 6th will be a B-Day.
