Electronics Communication Engineering Technology (15.0303)
This program is based on a curriculum which introduces students to electronics. ECET provides
students the opportunity to obtain both the knowledge and skills necessary to be competitive in
a diverse electronics engineering job market or to further their education. Students are prepared
for positions in business and technical areas within the fields of Electronics Communication
Students desiring study in Electronics will complete DC Fundamentals, DC Network Theorems,
AC Fundamentals, Digital Logic Fundamentals, Digital Circuit Fundamentals, Semiconductor
Fundamentals, Transistor Amplifier Fundamentals, FET Fundamentals, Op-Amp Fundamentals,
Analog Communications, Soldering, Nano-Technology and Computer Service Technician within
the program. ECET is part of a State-Wide Articulation earning a total of twelve (12) college
credits, for students meeting the program requirements. Demand for Electronics Technicians at
the Associates (2 Year) Degree level is high.
ECET is designed for students interested in developing a strong foundation in the electronics
field, from both a business and technical standpoint. Students are exposed to core level
certification programs: Student Electronic Technician (SET), Associate Electronic Technician
(CETa), Journeyman Electronic Technician (CET), Computer Systems Technician (CST), and
Customer Service Specialist (CSS).
Classes are structured to represent real world situations using experimental, individual, and teambased
learning. Intel-based hardware utilizing a Microsoft Windows platform is focused on in
the ECET program. The program develops communications, critical thinking, problem solving,
and interpersonal skills through labs, projects, presentations, and team activities.
Students in this program are eligible to join SKILLS USA and DECA.
